The CSAE standard " Hardware Performance Requirements and Test Methods for Camera of Intelligent Connected Vehicle ", proposed by China Industry Innovation Alliance for the Intelligent and Connected Vehicles (CAICV) and jointly led by Horizon Robotics, CICV, SUNEX, and Zhejiang Sunny Smartlead Technologies Co., Ltd., has successfully completed the standard verification recently.

With the rapid iteration of intelligent connected vehicle technology, the performance of automotive camera puts forward higher requirements, but the corresponding test methods still remain at the level of traditional image, failing to match the characteristics of the new automotive camera system with high pixel, high stability, and high dynamic range.

Existing standards for automotive camera can no longer meet the development needs of the technology, the automobile enterprises and Tier1 lack a common standard to describe the automotive image quality, and the module suppliers and algorithm suppliers lack a consistent evaluation system. Based on the objective image quality evaluation methods proposed in the " Hardware Performance Requirements and Test Methods for Camera of Intelligent Connected Vehicle ", the evaluation team focused on parameters such as effective pixels of the camera module, resolving power frame rate, luminance uniformity, color uniformity, dynamic range, noise, low-light performance, bad pixels, ghosting, dazzle, high and low temperature drift and etc. In addition, the standard was revised and improved according to the assessment test and testing process.
